George H. and Elta Spencer Thompson Foundation Mission

The Thompson Foundation is a non-profit corporation that supports Cheyenne County Nebraska educational, religious, scientific, and charitable organizations. The Thompson Foundation’s main function is to provide funding to promote the activities, services, and facilities of non-profit organizations located in or benefiting the citizens of Cheyenne County Nebraska.

The following list describes the mission of the foundation:

  1. Provide funding for educational, religious, scientific, and charitable purposes.
  2. Provide funding for purposes beneficial to the citizens of Cheyenne County, Nebraska.
  3. Provide funding to promote activities, services and facilities of non-profit organizations located in or benefiting the citizens of Cheyenne County, Nebraska.
  4. Provide scholarship and fellowship grants and assistance to be utilized for study at an educational institution located in Cheyenne County, Nebraska or to residents of Cheyenne County, Nebraska or their children.  

Criteria for Grant Application

  1. Proof of nonprofit exempt status 501(c) 3 from the IRS
  2. General description of your organization’s purposes and activities
  3. List of names, addresses, and titles of each member of your governing board
  4. Details of previous grants
  5. Amount requested and detailed explanation of how it will be used
